He is an expert at conducting Open, Laparoscopic and Robotic surgeries. In fact he and his team has one of the largest series of performing uro-oncological surgeries by open as well as by robotic means, in India.

- M.S. (General Surgery - 1998) from Government Medical College - Mysore
- DNB (Urology - 2004) from Muljibhai Patel urological hospital, Nadiad, Gujarat
- Fellowship in Uro-Oncology from Rajiv Gandhi cancer institute and research centre(RGCI-2006-2008), Delhi
- Fellowship in laparoscopic and Robotic urology at Taipei City hospital and Mackey Memorial hospital, Taipei, Taiwan.

- He is the founder member of Society Of Genitourinary Oncologists (SOGO) of India, and serving as a honourable secretary to SOGO, the national level society for the education and knowledge sharing in the field of Genito urinary oncology
- Dr Raghunath is the co-founder & trustee of Global Prostate Cancer Foundation, an NGO to create awareness about prostate diseases, in particular prostate cancer amongst urologists and the community to prevent and detect the prostate cancer early
- He is cofounder of COMOFI medtech company and clinical director of COMOFI, a company in Bangalore, involved in development of a robotic devices to help surgeons to perform complex procedures
- He is a TEDx speaker, spoke on robotic surgery at TEDx event at Dayanand sagar college of engineering in 2019
